Kids love doing arts and crafts activities for Valentine's Day. The pretty colors, fancy ribbons, and sparkling glitter make crafting feel extra special!

These Valentine cards are easy to make with cardstock and paint. Every card will be unique, depending on each child's skill level and imagination.

  • Keep the activity open-ended, with lots of opportunity for kids to make shapes and designs on their cards.

The results will be more amazing and personal if they are not all alike. Kids will love making one for everyone!

Instructions for homemade cards

Valentine cards kids can make with heart shaped stamps

  • Fold a sheet of cardstock in half.

  • Pour red paint into a recycled foam tray. Press heart shapes firmly into paint and then onto the paper.

Kids can practice stamping onto plain paper before actually making cards to see how their designs will look.

  • Add glitter to paint before it dries to decorate the cards. Add bows or other decorations when the paint dries.

Kids can sign their names or make drawings inside the cards.
