Heather at Preschool Toolkit Blog

Welcome to Preschool Toolkit. I'm Heather, co-owner and content writer.

As a preschool teacher, I loved engaging with kids in an early learning environment. Now I'm committed to providing resources on my website that support childhood development. My goal is to connect teachers and parents with opportunities to help kids explore and discover hands-on.

I create crafts and activities that generally use recycled or re-purposed materials and don't require printables. I also provide links to relevant resources that extend, or add to, a theme or activity.

Activities are meant to be done with adult supervision, but processes and results should be open-ended, child-led and fun!

Use the tools and ideas you find on Preschool Toolkit to imagine something wonderful for you and your home or classroom.

Background

I owned and operated a licensed preschool facility for 16 years, teaching children 3 - 5 years of age.  During this time I prepared a music program which I taught in my classroom and at a local day care center.

I am currently engaged solely in the development of Preschool Toolkit, providing resources for the early learning community. I have a small but mighty team of individuals, skilled in online technology and hands-on creativity, to help with the content and overall performance of the website.

Products

I'm an affiliate for three products I love. They are built by writers, teachers and parents in a variety of early education fields or experiences. These resources will help you plan everyday activities for one child or a group of kids, at home or in the classroom.

1.  STEAM KIDS

2.  Unofficial Guide to Learning with LEGO®

3. Preschool Lesson Plans Thematic Units

See my Privacy and Disclosure for information on affiliates and use of website.
