I’m Heather, the owner and content writer at preschooltoolkit.com/.
It’s no mistake that I resemble the teacher image in our logo. I spent several years as a teacher of early learners, with glasses, and possibly a pony tail. An artist friend created this and other playful drawings you’ll see on my home page and in my digital products.
I bring my experience as both a parent and an early childhood educator to this website, where I provide hands-on opportunities for learning through play. I strive to make these opportunities easy to deliver, using recycled or inexpensive materials, with a goal of creating fun for you and your early learners.
The activities are intended to be child-led with adult supervision, at home or in an early learning classroom environement.
I extend or complement the activities I write by including links to family oriented websites with additional resources. I also link to affiliates where applicable.
As part of the information on the blog, I share my experience as a preschool owner/teacher. I’ve written a series of posts on opening a preschool facility and the development of an early learning program. These tips offer practical suggestions and support for your own goals for operating or managing a child care center.
I also created a Music Program with 10 easy lessons for preschool or kindergarten. The program is available as a free download in my Teachers Pay Teachers store.
I loved engaging with kids when I worked in an early learning classroom environment. Now I’m committed to providing meaningful activities online that support childhood development.
My goal is to help teachers plan and deliver quality programs, and to provide both parents and teachers with resources that will help them explore and discover hands-on with their early learners.

My Background
I owned and operated a licensed preschool facility for over 16 years, teaching children 3 – 5 years of age. I raised my own family during that time, and also engaged in continuing education, both ECE and BA related.
I am currently engaged solely in the development of Preschool Toolkit, providing resources for the early learning community.
I have a small but mighty team of individuals to help with the content and overall performance of the website. They form a unique group with combined skills in online technology, editing, research and creativity.
